What “Pelikan” means here

Pelikan of Hanover made the piston filler standard in 1929; the 400 of the 1950s and the M800 (1987) are the ones that come through the case. Like Esterbrook, Pelikan lets you swap nib units, which he calls the two makers that "made it easy to exchange nibs on one pen you already love."
