What “1980-Present” means here

Modern pens, bought pre-owned: Montblanc, Pelikan's M800 (1987), Namiki maki-e, Visconti, Delta, Omas, Aurora, Lamy, TWSBI. Most fill by cartridge/converter or piston. His advice: "there is a great deal of money to be saved by purchasing luxury pens from Cross to Montblanc on the second-hand market," and to check the dealer first: "Is there a return policy?
