Description from Nathaniel
The Bexley Pen Company has an origin story very close to our hearts. The company started in 1993 when a small group of vintage pen collectors looked around at the options for modern pens and said, "We can do a lot better." And in our humble opinion, they did. What sets this Bexley 226 and other early Bexley pens apart from the rabble of Montblanc, Waterman, Sheaffer and many others in the early 1990s was a devotion to vintage fountain pen filling systems and design sensibilities. Our fully restored Bexley 226 is a perfect example. It features a button-filler, just like a 1920s Parker Duofold. Yet, it features a much more modern, textured butterscotch acrylic cap and barrel that is warm and dazzling. They hadn't perfected their manufacturing, yet, as the gold-plating has worn off the high spots on the trim. There's discoloration in the cap from whatever material they used on the section, which also has some cosmetic issues. Nevertheless, they made sure to use a real 14k gold nib with just a little flex! C'mon, these were real vintage pen collectors who understood what made a fountain pen fantastic. You will write a smooth, wet medium line that can flex to close to 1mm. 14cm capped.
