The oldest system: the barrel is the reservoir and you fill it with a dropper. Old ink glues the section threads, so "fill a cup with room-temperature water and soak the pen over the line separating the section from the barrel. Let it soak for 12 to 48 hours" (when-hard-rubber-misbehaves). Modern Ranga pens in the catalog are eyedroppers by design.
