Sheaffer Balance pens revolutionized the way pens would look for all time. Their streamlining was a first in a world of flat-top pen designs. Sheaffer called this a silver-pearl striated design. We think it is quite attractive with its nickel-plated trim. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. The viewing window is still that yellow-green color, though a bit stained. You won't find any cracks, but the pen was well loved and has its share of light wear. The lever-filler is a little scarred. Read the name William M. Snyder on the barrel. You will write an extra-extra-fine line with what we are pretty sure is an "accountant's nib." It is firm but only has light feedback if you use a "feather touch" to write with it. This Sheaffer Balance is as long as an oversized model but a standard thickness--not as wide as an oversized pen. 13.9cm capped.
